Every site provides Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and standby diesel generators capable of supporting the site indefinitely in the unlikely event of a failure of grid-power.
Resilient and secure power: infrastructure you can rely on
With virtualisation increasing server utilisation, it's vital that you have sufficient power for your entire infrastructure. We have enough to satisfy even the most power-hungry blade servers, with high density infrastructures in excess of 15kW per rack available.
Rack Layout and DesignOur data centres hold at minimum 900 racks with each rack being 47U, therefore maximising the available space for servers. Each rack is fed via two 32 AMP commando sockets beneath the raised access floor. For added redundancy, each commando socket is fed via separate Power Distribution Units, giving true A&B Supply characteristics.
We understand the importance and critical nature of ensuring servers are cooled to ensure high levels of uptime and hardware longevity. In our secure data centres, we use air-cooled DX chillers, in N+1 configuration, for each data hall, and external units that cool the refrigerant and pass through the Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) unit.
Our systems use the latest digital scroll compressor systems to maximise efficiency.
Power cabling running under the raised flooring is beneath the hot aisles - maximising air flow to the cold aisles as well as increased efficiency and power economy.
Network cabling again runs overhead in the hot aisle to enhance the air flow in the floor void.
Cold Aisle Containment
All our data centres employ cold aisle containment; consisting of a solid roof and sliding doors at each end of the cold aisle to minimise the air loss as well as increasing efficiency. Compared to other cold aisle containment solutions, our feature is far more efficient and secure.
There are multiple areas systems installed in our data centres, which are located throughout the suites and plant. The data centres are equipped with gaseous-based suppression systems using world class VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) and alarm systems.
Intelligent Fire Protection
Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) or alternative sophisticated detection technology, is installed in every facility.
These highly sensitive two-stage smoke detectors are linked to the DCIM system and monitored continually from a network operations centre. In the unlikely event of a fire, we have environmentally-friendly gas-based fire suppression systems that quickly extinguish any fire. Systems are designed to minimise any disruption and ensure that any minor problem remains localised.
Access to the building, data floors and individual areas is via individually programmed access cards. Standardised procedures ensure that you and your nominated staff can gain access to your equipment whenever required, day or night.
All security and fire systems are constant monitored and controlled by a number of additional systems including: network connectivity and latency CCTV systems, cage and entry door access controls as well as the physical grounds, temperature, moisture and humidity levels in individual suites and power levels (down to individual power bars within racks).

The security of your business-critical data and systems is our primary concern. To this end, we have a permanent manned security presence at all of our data centres and use multi-layered physical security including a secure perimeter and video surveillance.
Entry to each facility is tightly controlled - with strict procedures in place to monitor and control visitor access both into and within the data centres. Extensive CCTV video camera surveillance is in place across each facility, along with security breach alarms and controlled physical barriers.
Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) is a form of data centre management which extends the more traditional systems and network management approaches to now include the physical and asset-level components. Essentially it provides a significantly more comprehensive view of all of the resources within the data centre including:
